All visiting children and all my dogs wear the turtles except for the Lab. Sometimes the turtles get wet with the spray from the Polaris pool cleaner, so when it went off one day we weren't too concerned, but we always check anyway. One time it was my Westie, Roos, who had fallen in the pool and one time it was my 4-year old granddaughter, Madie. Madie is trained to get to the side of the pool, but a four-year old who falls in the deep end accidentally with her clothes would panic and possibly drown. The good news is that the alarm went off and we were able to pull her out before damage was done. Even though she can dog-paddle, Madie never goes outside without her turtle. It goes on when she gets up and off when she goes to bed.

Like Madie, Roos panicked even though he was only inches from the pool's edge. Unlike Madie, however, Roos has no chance of getting out of the pool. When the alarm went off, as usual we always check and this time a beloved pet was saved.

These turtles are worth every penny.
